The Blasters are a rock and roll band formed in 1979 in Downey, California, by brothers Phil Alvin (vocals and guitar) and Dave Alvin (guitar), with bass guitarist John Bazz and drummer Bill Bateman. Phil Alvin explained the origin of the band’s name: «I thought Joe Turner’s backup band on Atlantic records – I had these 78s – I thought they were the Blues Blasters. That ends up it was Jimmy McCracklin. I just took the ‘Blues’ off and Joe finally told me, that’s Jimmy McCracklin’s name, but you tell ‘im I gave you permission to steal it.»
Their self-described «American Music» was a blend of blues, rockabilly, early rock and roll, punk rock, mountain music, and rhythm and blues. They have a devoted fan base and have received largely positive critical reviews, but have earned only limited mainstream success. Critic Mark Deming wrote of them, «the Blasters displayed a wide-ranging musical diversity [and] were a supremely tight and tasteful band with enough fire, smarts, and passion for two or three groups.

Charles Edward Anderson «Chuck» Berry (Saint Louis, Misuri, 18 de octubre de 1926), mejor conocido como Chuck Berry; es uno de los más influyentes compositores, intérpretes y guitarristas de rock and roll de la historia.
Es una figura influyente y uno de los pioneros del rock and roll. En la década de los 50, Berry interpretó canciones como «Roll Over Beethoven», «Rock and Roll Music», «Route 66» de Bobby Troup, «Johnny B. Goode» y «Maybellene».
Sin duda un inmortal del Rock’n’roll cuyos temas influenciaron a muchas bandas desde los Rolling Stones hasta Motorhead, AC/DC y Ramones.

Para quienes no saben quien fue este gran musico (creador de un sub genero dentro del Country). Johnny Cash era conocido por su profunda voz y por vestir ropa oscura, lo que le valió el apodo de «El hombre de negro» («The Man in Black»). Empezaba todos sus conciertos con la sencilla frase: «Hola, soy Johnny Cash» («Hello, I’m Johnny Cash»).
Muchas de las canciones de Cash, como en «I Walk The Line», «Folsom Prison Blues», o «Man in Black», tratan de temas como la pena, la culpa y tribulaciones morales. También compuso canciones humorísticas (como «One Piece At A Time», «The One On The Right Is On The Left» o «A Boy Named Sue»), llenas de vitalidad («Get Rhythm») o con otras temáticas típicas del country, como el ferrocarril («The Rock Island Line» o la famosa «Orange Blossom Special»). Sin duda su peculiar estilo, actitud rebelde y talento en la composición influyo a muchas bandas algunas de las cuales aparecen en estos dos discos tributos.

The Tomcats, la banda formada por Brian Setzer y su hermano, fue el germen de los geniales «Stray Cats», que nacerían en 1979 en Nueva York al abandonar el hermano de Setzer la formación y unirse Lee Rocker y Slim Jim Phanton, compañeros de clase de Brian.
La música interpretada por este trío se basaba en la que editó en su día la discográfica Sun en los cincuenta, y se encontraba fuertemente influenciada por el estilo de «Bill Haley and The Comets».
Pero los inicios serían difíciles, y tendrían que irse a Inglaterra para conseguir triunfar de la mano de Brian Setzer y su Gretsch G6120, lo que conseguirían después de publicar su primer disco, The Stray Cats, en 1981.Una de las razones que motivó al grupo a mudarse a Inglaterra, fue el revival de una joven subcultura, la de los «Teddy Boys», que utilizaban laca para peinarse, en lugar de vaselina y cuyos peinados eran escandalosamente coloridos.
Fue en el nombrado disco, donde el público pudo deleitarse con tres de los temas más emblemáticos del grupo: «Runaway Boys», «Rock this town» y su estandarte melódico, «Stray cat Strut».
Volverían a Estados Unidos para editar su segundo disco, Gonna Ball (1981) y una recopilación titulada Built for Speed (1982). Su tercer disco oficial sería Rant N’ Rave With The Stray Cats (1983), y supondría el inicio del fin.
Tras él, la banda comenzaría una espiral de separaciones y reencuentros marcada por la salida de discos no tan buenos en comparación con sus tres primeros trabajos.
En 2004, coincidiendo con el 25º aniversario de la formación del grupo, los Stray Cats se reunieron nuevamente en una gira por todo el mundo.
Al comienzo de agosto de 2008 los Stray Cats volvieron a los escenarios de Europa, comenzando en España. Esta fue la gira de despedida del grupo, conocida como «Farewell Tour» y en la que los Cats dijeron adiós a sus fans, para siempre, aunque cada uno seguiría su camino como en los últimos años.

Historia del Crimen was a Rockabilly band formed in Buenos Aires in 1997. In 2004 they recorded their first album, «Perverso Romeo», by 4k Records and distributed by Universal Music.
In 2005 they split up. Nico Valle («Nixxx del Crimen») and Sam formed other band called Motorama.

La banda comenzó tocando en bailes y clubs nocturnos de su natal Minneapolis en 1962. Al año siguiente lanzaron su primer álbum, Surfin’ Bird (album) en el año 1964, del cual se desprende el sencillo del mismo nombre y que rápidamente los llevó a conseguir reconocimiento del público, incluso figuró en la posición no. 4 de la lista Billboard Hot 100.Cabe mencionar que la canción «Surfin’ Bird» no es original de ellos, fue resultado de la combinación de los temas «Bird is the word» y «Papa Ooh Mow Mow» de la banda de R&B, The Rivingtons. A raíz del éxito obtenido, comenzarón giras por Estados Unidos y Canadá. En los años siguientes lanzaron varios sencillos que también alcanzarón buenos lugares en las listas de popularidad pero que nunca lograron superar el fenómeno de «Surfin’ Bird». En 1967 deciden separarse debido a que la «invasión británica» de bandas, hizó que la música surf perdiera terreno rápidamente en la preferencia del público.

Declan Patrick MacManus nacido en Londres el 25 de agosto de 1954, conocido como Elvis Costello, es un músico, cantante y compositor británico.
Se inició en la escena pub-rock londinense a mitad de los 70 desde donde vio llegar como observador privilegiado la New Wave y el punk, movimientos con los que se asoció.Este disco se grabó en Marzo de 1978 con el nombre de la banda como Elvis Costello And The Attractions y fue editado nuevamente el 2009.

Se formaron en Akron, Ohio en 1976 con Rod Firestone (voz), Buzz Clic (guitarra), Donny Damage (bajo), Stix Pelton (bateria) and Pete Sake (teclado).
En sus primeros años los Rebels eran fans (y amigos) de bandas de Cleveland como The Dead Boys and Devo.Su primera presentacion fue teloneando a The Dead Boys en el legendario club CBGB en Nueva York en 1977.
The Rebels se mudaron a Los Angeles en 1978, ahi ellos tocaban con frecuencia en el famoso Whisky A Go-Go fcon bandas comoThe Knack, Fear, The Kats, The Nu Kats, The Dickies y The Plimsouls. Firmaron con Sire Records en la misma disquera que The Ramones, pero una pelea entre la banda y la disquera impidio que los Rebels pudieran editar su primer album.
Hasta la actualidad pese a los cambios en sus integrantes, ellos siguen oficialmente unidos.
